What I Can’t Let Go Of:
(just like the NPR Politics podcast on Fridays- minus the “Politics or otherwise” disclaimer.
This blog is publicly, a politics-free zone, so all musings will be “Otherwise“.)
The lovely, touching movie The Holdovers
Paul Giamatti is brilliant as a socially inept instructor. His character’s growth is beautiful to witness. And Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s (the cook) is heart-wrenching, but funny and sweet (when she visits her sister, have a tissue ready). And the main student (newcomer Dominic Sessa) is a twisted ball of teenage jerk, lonely, privileged only child, smart student and so much more!
What I can’t let go of, is just when we assume something or judge someone, we discover a side we didn’t know, circumstances we couldn’t have guessed, internal struggles and outside forces all adding layers to every person’s behavior and attitude.
I need to keep this lesson forefront for all the real people that I encounter in my daily life:
- To be accepting of all those around me.
- To meet them where the are.
- To explore deeper to find common ground.
- Small gestures matter!!!

Last Minute Valentine’s Gesture
I have a new blogging friend to share with you!
I have only recently met Kelly with Live Laugh Rowe. And she is creative and delightful (and lives within 2 hours of me — that’s like being neighbors in our blogging world).
She shared this charming, quick and easy, way to extend a personal gesture of friendship we can all appreciate.
She says: At the heart of the berry gift idea lies a simple yet profound concept – the art of thoughtfulness.
