Happy Easter, Friend!
What I Can’t Let Go Of:
(just like the NPR Politics podcast on Fridays- minus the “Politics or otherwise” disclaimer.
This blog is publicly, a politics-free zone, so all musings will be “Otherwise“.)
I can’t let go of the effects of procrastination!
I despise tedious paperwork. Especially paperwork chronicling the past!!!
I’m happy to work on projection spreadsheets and plans for new projects and laying out the details of a new idea, making 6 different mockups of placement of trim on a bathroom wall.
You guessed it — or maybe you know me well. I love dreaming and scheming creative projects and I loathe bookkeeping and taxes!!!!
And that bookkeeping and taxes agony is compounded because I procrastinate this dreaded task.
But this ended this last week. All the 2023 numbers are now sitting on our tax accountant’s desk
And best part: We Have A Plan Going Forward
The Hubs is taking over putting the numbers into spreadsheets the 1st of every month. He is the Master of Routines (and hates numbers). I love numbers (but hate routines, when there is a creative idea I can chase instead).
Teamwork for the Win!

On the Blog This Week
Design Principles and Container Gardens
Wonder why a scattering of pretty pots just look so-so?
Wish your container gardens were design masterpieces?
I shared the absolute best styling tips for container gardens — as well as your indoor displays and vignettes.
And Free Printable, Editable Name Tags
Or you can use them for gift tags.
Or maybe for a Spring sign in a tiered tray.
There are two styles and I share how to add bits of color using the simplest method ever!
BONUS: How to turn Dollar Tree bunnies into those sweet “aged terra cotta” bunnies.

Cool Life Hack Product or Trick of the Week
Are you too, enamored by crazy, neat items designed to make life a bit simpler, more joy-filled?
Since that’s really the goal behind South House Designs — to bring more joy in our lives through creative thinking, creative problem-solving and creative doing. I’ve decided to add a section each week where I share one item I’ve come across that does just that!
Please let me know what you think!

The Air Cot
I guess this has been all over. Since I’m not in the young parent demographic, I had not seen it. Ingenious, simple to use, about the size of a water bottle. According to the reviews it truly works!!! And very reasonably priced.
Guess who I’ll be getting one for?
Some Great Spring Finds

Those stacked pots are simply the best clay terra cotta pots I’ve seen this year. They’re even better in person!
And this picture doesn’t show it, but you need to see those stemless wine glasses. I love them and they’re from Libbey (so cheap). But no one will guess!

Coming Next Week:
The ONE ROOM CHALLENGE starts next week — EEK!
You’ll want to follow along for all 8 weeks.
I have some great plans for a very small room. Can you relate?
And I’m doing this long distance. I will only be on site for one week to make all the magic happen. I’m going to need a huge cheering section to see me through.
Next week, Week 1, I’m sharing our Mood Board and inspiration.

From Around the Web
You can tell it’s Spring. I’m ready for parties! Let the planning begin!
Are you hosting a bridal shower?
Or maybe a rehearsal dinner?
Or treating your girls to lunch after dress shopping?
Isn’t this the cutest centerpiece?
Of course, the insanely talented Leslie of My 100 Year Old Home would come up with this for her soon to be daughter-in-law.
Check out how she made this happen!
Still thinking showers, but this time Baby Shower.
You really need to check out my friend, Wendy [Wm Design House], and the Little Cutie baby shower she helped a friend plan.
Oh My! No detail forgotten!
From the invitations, to the menu, to take home gifts, you won’t want to miss a thing!
As you probably know by now, I use some affiliate links in my newsletters and on the website. An affiliate link means that if you click on my link and purchase something, I may receive a small commission but you pay nothing extra.

I hope you’ve been enjoying the weekend!!! Thanks for hanging out with me a bit,

Can’t get to your ‘spring finds’ page. I want to know where you got the mossy branch that is pictured. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the heads up on the broken link, All is fixed now. I hope those mossy branches work for you. They are gorgeous>
