Oh Summer, slow down,
you move too fast,
I wanna make your warm days last, ohhh!
I have to admit, I say this too much — about every season
(well, perhaps not late Winter – early Spring).
Is it just me?
Or is it a sign that I need to slow down, and savor more?
But it’s sooooo hard!!!
There are so many ideas I want to try, to learn, to explore, to do!
So many people I want to spend time with!
So many places to experience!
It’s just not in my nature, my DNA, to reduce my lists.
But, I need to try!

How about you? Are we birds of the same feather?
Or were you once like this, and have suggestions or tips that helped you?
Please, send them to me and I’ll share them next week so maybe all in this flock can benefit?

On the Blog This Week
Another three full days on a banquette post with two accompanying videos!
This is another long post. To me it was one of the most important parts of the whole project — making this new space inviting and comfy!!!
How to Make a Bench Cushion (the easy way)
+
How to Make a Wall-Mounted Padded Backrest
(This is the best! Works above any backless bench or banquette — and easy)
This step-by-step How-To was time-consuming and challenging (for me) to write.
I tend to go into so much detail. Many readers don’t need all that detail, yet many readers are beginners and don’t have a lot of confidence.
While I want to share inspiration to the more experienced, I want to encourage the novices to give these projects a try. I’ve never done these things before, but when I break them down into small do-able chunks, it’s amazing what we can do!

Coming Next Week:
I put together a fun, little, quick, easy, practically free project I’ll be sharing this Tuesday.
(so many of my favorite project adjectives)
The final post of the One Room Challenge Banquette Project is scheduled for Friday:
The super cool Dry Bar!

Reminder for my fellow bloggers- content creators or influencers
This is for you!
I discovered a “new” affiliate platform. If you have not heard of Mavely, you need to!
There’s no real application, it’s just a simple sign-up. They have hundreds of brands and retailers on the platform, and as a Mavely creator, you’re automatically in with each of them.
Please click here to learn more and join. There is no obligation. This link will take you to the website to explore what all the buzz is about.

Reminder for my Stocking Families:
It’s July! Which means Christmas in July!!!
Can we ever start too early?
Well, I certainly can’t as the Christmas season is my crazy busy time.
This is a reminder that if you have South House Christmas stockings and your family has or is growing, and you need an additional stocking or three to blend in with your originals,
NOW is the time to order!!!
To encourage you to order before the season starts (before Sept. 1), I waive the $15 surcharge that Add-On stockings carry during the holiday season.
Click here, to order from SouthHouseDesigns.com or click here if you prefer going through Etsy.

Sharing From Around the Web

Two of my very favorite upcyclers, Cindy [Reinvented Delaware] and Do {Do Dodson Designs] have a fun and lively conversation about be bloggers, thrifters, upcyclers, business women, wives, grandmothers, . . .
Treat yourself to a good listen!
While we’re talking YouTube:
Have you seen Amy’s [Amy Sadler Designs] dupes? They are so lovely. I can’t decide which is my favorite! Torn between the fluted bowl and the black bowl.
What’s your vote?
Do you wear glasses too?
I mean, I love my Warby Parkers, don’t get me wrong! But those same frames are front and center 24/7 for too many years!!!
Have you heard about Pair Eyewear? I’m crazy about these. One pair of glasses, but you can change the frames with every whim!!!
Just pick the base frames you want, plus extras like progressive lens, blue light filter, sun sensitive, etc.
Then add as many frame toppers as you choose. And those frame toppers can include sun toppers — hallelujahs all around!
This is an incredible treat — Do NOT Miss it!
If you are in or visiting the DC area, the Renwick Gallery, part of the Smithsonian, has a temporary show thru the end of this year.
Six Native American artists created pieces that both honor their culture and legacy, but also shares the burdens of the same legacy — and even DNA.
Your eyes will be opened as well as your heart.
Visit this website and then scroll way down to the video section, click to play the video. (sorry, it doesn’t seem to have a separate URL for me to link}.
Give it a moment to load — well worth the wait.

As you probably know by now, I use some affiliate links in my newsletters and on the website. An affiliate link means that if you click on my link and purchase something, I may receive a small commission but you pay nothing extra.
I truly appreciate you using my links whenever possible!!!

I hope you enjoy your weekend!!! Thanks for hanging out with me a bit,
As I said before, I would greatly appreciate your feedback, any special requests, or questions you have.

I always love reading about you and all of your projects and activities! I would love to walk in your shoes but I think I would be exhausted! LOL. Thank you for sharing my butterscotch latte recipe. I’m thinking of making one this afternoon! Thanks again!
LOL! Come to think, I don’t just sit very well, because I just fall asleep if I’m sitting for any length of time (like longer than 15 minutes). Does that mean I’m exhausted and just don’t realize it? Hhmmmmm!
What a nice surprise to see that you shared my podcast video, Diane! Thanks so much! I hope everyone enjoys the interview with Do!
I certainly enjoyed it Cindy! You two are both so good at what you do and have such heart!
