What I Can’t Let Go Of:
(just like the NPR Politics podcast on Fridays- minus the “Politics or otherwise” disclaimer.
This blog is a publicly politics-free zone, so all musings will be “Otherwise“.)
Do you remember a couple of months ago when I couldn’t let go of the juvenile Orcas who were acting up out of boredom and then mimicking and challenging each other?
I’m riding that same train, but this time it’s dolphins!
The BBC filmed a very interesting dolphin . . . escapade, shall we call it? And now the Smithsonian has picked up on it too.
It appears dolphins are getting high off the toxins puffer fish release when they feel threatened.
The dolphins were filmed gently playing with the puffer, passing it between each other for 20 – 30 minutes at a time, unlike the fish they had caught as prey which were swiftly torn apart . . . At one point, the dolphins are seen floating just underneath the water’s surface, apparently mesmerized by their own reflection
The Daily News
The dolphins’ expert, deliberate handling of the terrorized puffer fissh implies that this is not their first time at the hallucinogenic rodeo.

Hmmm, is this why they always seem to be smiling?
I’d love to hear what you can’t let go of!
On the Blog This Week
If you’ve been around a while, you know Lambs Ear is one of my favorites — in the garden AND in my crafting studio.
What’s not to love:
- Soft
- Fuzzy
- FREE
I spent the week in knee deep in Lambs Ear and published a comprehensive post of 13 projects!

Isn’t this AHHH-Mazing!!!
My extremely creative and talented friend Wendy made over old miniature liquor bottles for her Halloween tablescape.
I am obsessed!
She has also turned all her labels into printables and is sharing them with her subscribers in her FREE Printables Library.
Are you a soup fan?
The Hubs made my favorite of hhis soups last night. Soup and stew dinners have to be my favorites as we head into colder weather.
It’s always great to have a new one to add to the rotation.
This “Thanksgiving Holiday Hash Soup” from Susan [Hen and Horse Design] looks like a real contender. Can’t wait to give it a try.
I’m not much into bright orange pumpkin and all for Halloween decorating.
But I do love Halloween whimsy!
And this candle speaks to my heart.
It’s whimsical, clever and an easy, inexpensive craft to make.

*** and this is just one of many in this post.
This week, I’m highlighting the my Luxury Christmas stockings in Rose Gold & Sage.
This is a stunning group I designed with neutral lovers in mind.
It will bring just a touch of pop to your holiday decor without looking lost in your see of warm neutrals and loads of texture.
It’s a subtle twist to traditional Christmas red and green.
I’ve included just a sampling of wonderful decorating accessories I found on Etsy (love supporting small businesses) that would be the perfect complements, extending this theme to your tree, a sideboard perhaps, table decor etc.
- My stockings
- Those stocking name tags
- Sheer wired rose gold ribbon
- Rose gold feather clip-on picks
- Gorgeous resin bulbs
- Rose gold berry picks
- Spectacular ribbon (limited qty available)
- Rose Gold and sage garland
