What I Can’t Let Go Of:
This blog is publicly, a politics-free zone, so all musings will be “Otherwise“.)
(just like the NPR Politics podcast on Fridays- minus the “Politics or otherwise” disclaimer.
It always surprises me to rediscover how much I love these cooler nights (with the windows open) as long as we still have with warm, sunny days.
But the saddest part of moving from Summer into Fall has to be the shortening daylight.
I have such a hard time being productive once it’s dark out.
Am I alone in this?
The header image?
Yes! the design stage is wrapping up! I’m now sewing like a fiend to get the first of every stocking made so I can photograph, write the posts and get the stockings available to all who have been waiting so patiently.
This year, the stockings release in be a rollout. One at a time over two weeks.
So be sure you are watching your inbox and IG and FB for each announcement.

Spooky, Creepy Tree For Almost Free
This month The Handcrafted Society was challenged to use foraged materials.
I foraged a tree from our yard. Don’t hate me — it was dead! (We were ready with a chainsaw, when The Hubs gave it a playful jab with his fist and it actually fell right over. No roots at all!)
So lemons to …ummm…. cider?
See how I did this. And be inspired for your own foraging downed branches and trees.
Simplified, But Fabulous Ombre Walls
Gradient colored walls can be tricky to get right.
And time was tight, so I simplified these ombre walls with an intentionally imperfect effect and they turned out even better than I hoped.
It’s playful, yet calming and soothing, just as a nursery should be.
I shared my technique and tips I learned along the way.
Tech Tip
Remember, these tips are exclusive content for my creative community.
They will be in the Saturday newsletter emails only
(and sometimes in the FB and IG stories for my followers there).
It’s just one way I can say thank you to all those who support me time after time!
Don’t worry, you too, can become a House Mate!
Great Shares From Around the Web
Michele’s Pumpkin Wine Dispenser
My friend, Michele’s [Vintage Home Designs] clever pumpkin drink dispenser is just the cutest thing ever!!!
It is surprisingly simple to do and she shares a great pictorial of the process in her post.
But she also shares so many more ways to use it beyond boxed wine.
You can make just about any drink and pour it into a spigot and bag that you can buy with a link she provides.
Cutest DIY Bench
Am I the only one obsessed with this bench?
Erin, at Hamilton Park Home, created this amazing cutie covered with a vintage Kilim rug.
She shares a complete tutorial with us.
While you’re there, be sure to look around, she has project after project of wonderful decor.
Not exactly beginner projects, if that’s what you need, but definitely inspirational and something to aspire to.
Fab Finds & Sales
Wow! I love this outfit, but last week everyone was loving it.
Love the quality (and I admit I’m a real fabric snob).
Love that the pieces are purchased separately so you can adjust the sizing as you may want. The zip neck pullover, the pants (with generous sized pockets b-t-w) and also this button neck sweater.
I received an alert that inventory is running low. If it’s still in your cart, you better go for it quick.
